problem with your yahoo account in Pidgin?

Peace be upon you:

so in last few days i faced a problem with my “Pidgin Internet Messenger”

for whom don’t know “Pidgin” Pidgin is a powerful messenger used specially by ubuntu users and it is a free chat client used by millions. Connect to AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and more chat networks all at once.

it was when i try i open my yahoo account it take a lot of time to connect and it doesn’t open so i think it is a problem with my Internet connection

by chance when i was browsing a web site I found that this problem is problem from the program itself not from the connection & i know its solution

the solution is :

run in terminal :

sudo gedit /etc/hosts

then edit at last this line in the opened file then save then exit

66.163.181.184 scs.msg.yahoo.com

then restart your Pidgin and it will work isa

Note: this is a bug and we wait for the next version of Pidgin which will be more improved

By the way how many one use Pidgin and missed the “BUZZ” button ?

so you can make a “BUZ” button in your Pidgin instead of write “/buzz”

1) download this plug in from here

2) extract the folder and open it you will find a file called “attentionbutton.so”

copy it in

/usr/lib/pidgin

by running in terminal

gksudo nautilus

then open your Pidgin then Tools then Plugins then mark on

Attention Button 0.3 as shown in this photo

so that is the end

Opera Unite: a Web server on the Web browser

hi there, so while i browsing the web i found that Opera published a new version of Opera web browser called Opera Unite it is an amazing web browser not only that it is faster than the last version or more organized it isn’t all things. the new version offers a new service to share your folders , videos or sounds with your friends !!! yes a web server with your web browser,

so what is the new?

what’s the new!!!!!  when you want to share any thing with your friends you need to upload it to a third party site and you have a limited number of downloads and a lot of  problems

so how can i start?

1 – you can download your suitable version from http://labs.opera.com/news/2009/06/16/ and then select your OS if you choose linux   you will choose your (processor type – OS type) then choose any package has the extension  .deb

2 – After downloading the package and installing it normally open it

then choose panels icon  from upper left corner

then you press on the “Home”

you will required to registration insert a User name & password & a real Email then press next

After registration and complete the next steps you can start to use the services in Fig.1 choose as an example “File sharing” you will be required to select a folder to share (it must be a folder) select the folder and press open

After finishing this step you can share by press on “File sharing”

you will find a statement say:

send this URL to share the files —-> this link which you can share throw it by giving it to your friend

you will find also “Access control” —–> which you can determine who can share this files

other services:

• You could play games and chat to your friends  directly using the service
• You can work with others on files such as data and images (think wikis or drawing applications), and then work with those files offline if you wish, before sharing them again at a later date
